Dow Electronic Materials, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW), is pleased to announce that it has received a 2015 Supplier Excellence Award from the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). This esteemed award recognizes Dow for excellent performance in the development and delivery of materials for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP).

“Dow CMP Technologies is honored to receive this distinction from TSMC. TSMC is an innovator and the leading foundry in the world, and we’re proud to be a valued partner,” said Mario Stanghellini, vice president and global business director, CMP Technologies, Dow Electronic Materials. “This award is a testimony to our commitment to partner with our customers with the highest levels of quality, consistency, and technical expertise.”

The award highlights Dow Electronic Materials’ success in supporting TSMC’s need for innovative, high technology materials development for advanced nodes, as well as close supplier collaboration. Dow’s investment in the Asia-Pacific Technical Center in Hsinchu, Taiwan, close to Hsinchu Science Park, allows for rapid sampling and technical service.

“We are very grateful for our supplier partners’ full support as we ramp our 16nm capacity,” said TSMC president and co-chief executive officer Dr. Mark Liu. “In the spirit of the Grand Alliance, we will continue to forge closer bonds with our customers and suppliers to push technology forward and reap the rewards of growth together.”

Each year, TSMC recognizes exceptional suppliers for performance in technology, quality, price, and technical support during their Supply Chain Management Forum in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Now in its 15th year, the theme of this year’s event was “Collaborate and Win Together.”
