Dow Seoul Technology Center: New Global R&D Center for Electronic Materials
Seoul, Korea - March 21, 2012
The new Dow Seoul Technology Center located south of Seoul in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do officially opened its doors on July 2011, with the site inauguration on March 21. The new R&D center location was built to serve customers in the display and semiconductor related markets in Korea and around the world. The new, five-story R&D center employs about 160 people today (March 2012), with capacity for 300 research employees.
Key areas of research include:
- Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP)
- Advanced Chip Packaging
- Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED)
- Display Chemicals
Within these research areas, Dow has formulation, synthesis, scale-up and analysis, laboratories as well as clean rooms for product application research. The new Dow Seoul Technology Center is also the hub for global R&D for OLED materials.
